Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s Adrian with the forward claiming he is happy in the Spanish capital.
The Gunners have already bolstered their front line with the impressive captures of Lukas Podolski and more recently Olivier Giroud, but reports have surrounded a further potential swoop for the 24-year-old Spaniard.
The forward told Marca: “We have won a trophy and that for me is very important in my first season. I am happy.”
Adrian struck seven league goals in his first season at Vicente Calderon, and impressed so much on
the right flank for Los Colchoneros that he was rewarded with a full team debut for the senior Spanish side in a friendly against Serbia in May whereby he scored.
The news will provide welcome relief for Atletico manager Diego Simeone who has already been busy this summer transfer window, bringing in Cata Diaz, Cristian Rodriguez and Emre to the Europa League winners.
