The Mail has reported a story emanating from France which suggests that Rennes have received a bid of 5million euro (just over £4million) for centre-back Abdou Kader Mangane.
Arsenal have been interested in Mangane in the past and the Mail suggests that the Gunners could well be the mystery club. That is conceivable although at 29 Mangane is heading towards the up end of Arsene Wenger’s age limit for new signings.
The Mail reported last week that five English clubs were keen on the Senegal international who was restricted to just 13 games last season for Rennes. That, his age and the fact that Arsenal haven’t
followed him for a while suggests it is unlikely they are the mystery bidders.
One-time Arsenal target Leandro Damiao has rejected a move to their north London rivals Tottenham. The Brazilian striker said he had received an offer to move to White Hart Lane but has turned it down.
Earlier this year Damiao’s agent, Vincius Prates, confirmed Arsenal’s interest but that interest doesn’t appear to have resulted in a concrete bid.
