Arsene Wenger Planning to Convert Theo Walcott to a Striker.

Wenger is considering converting Theo Walcott into a striker because he sees him as more of a central player rather than a winger. The Englishman had been playing wide since his arrival at Arsenal but Wenger thinks he would be better upfront.

Contrary to the views of many, Wenger sees a big difference between Walcott and Chamberlain.

"They are a different style. I believe that Walcott is more of a striker-type and Oxlade-Chamberlain is a more midfielder-type.

"You could see Oxlade-Chamberlain developing into a central midfielder but you could never with Walcott. I see Walcott developing through the middle as a striker and Chamberlainmaybe as a central midfielder."

The Frenchman went on to praise Southampton for their efforts in breeding youngsters. If you aren't aware, Theo Walcott and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain both graduated from their academy.

"First of all it is [down to] fantastic scouting and they have a good development and coaching programme with young players," he said.

"They started that earlier than anyone else. They have a good reputation with their youth."

It would be very nice if Theo is eventually given a striker role as there is already a lot of competition on the flanks.
