Arsenal had won three games consecutively and would face a side who are still mourning their injury time defeat against Real Madrid in the UCL and as such, the German international wants the team to carry on their form and morale into the City game which would hold on Sunday.
‘Olivier (Giroud) made a good pass for me - and I like the one-on-one situations,’ he said.
‘We played very good in the first half but not so well in the second half.
‘But we have the three points - this is important and we go forward to the Manchester City game.’
Thomas Vermaelen also gave a similar opinion.
‘We weren't great in the second half but in this situation you have to staycalm and not concede a goal,’ said the Belgian international.
‘We have to stay focused and confident [for Manchester City] and if we play our own game we can get a result there.’
