Wenger Says Theo Walcott Might Leave as a Free Agent.

As we all know, Theo Walcott's current contract runs out in the summer of next year and the club is trying it's possible best to give him a new deal but it seems the English international isn't interested.

Arsene Wenger has revealed there had been no progress in talks so far but is hoping to conclude it all before the next transfers begin in January.

"I still hope to sign him and the next two months will be vital because after that, the longer this situation lasts, then the more difficult it is,"Wenger said.

"Let's hope we can find a solution in the next two months."

On whether the winger woukd be sold out in January if he refused to sign a new deal, Wenger replied,

"It will depend on the needs of the team and the club. We can afford to go to the end (of the contract) if needed."

Walcott has had less play time this season, with many people associating that with his refusal to sign a new deal but the Frenchman was quick to play down those thoughts. He said it was as a result of his form.

"The fact he doesn't play regularly at the moment is right, but it's not necessarily linked with his contract situation. No player is happy when he doesn't play.

"At the moment, [Laurent] Koscielny doesn't play. He has just extended his contract and still doesn't play because the defence is doing well. That's only temporary because by the end of the season, they will all play."
