Wenger Wants Chamberlain to Forget Former Club.

Yes Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain was once a Southampton player. All that is now history. What matters most now is that he is an Arsenal player and has to do his best for the club.

All Wenger wants from the youngster is complete focus. He wants him to forget his former club and play against them as he does against any other opponents if he gets the chance to do so. He doesn't want him to put in sentiments when playing against them even though he started his football career with the Saints at the age of 7.

“He has to forget that it’s his former club and just play,” the manager said. “It’s always a little bit special for the guys who play against their former clubs - and I’ve not seen many players who can deal well with that.

“Sometimes they are absolutely outstanding, but most of the time they have a very average day.

“You try to assess how big the weight of this special moment will play on their mind. The more experienced they are, the better they deal with it.”

I would love to see him shine as usual and also make the starting lineup. Whether he gets a goal or not isn't the issue, all that matters to me is the 3 points.
