Carl Jenkinson is gradually drawing closer to getting a place in the Engkand national team.
The former Charlton man had really improved since his arrival at North-London and has had a good start in the present campaign. He had been doing a very good job since Sagna broke his leg and that had made a lot of people tip him to be a star.
England manager, Roy Hodgson is also aware of this and is hoping he would be called up very soon. For a start, he was given the opportunity to train with the England national team at Arsenal's training ground [London Colney].
However, the full-back will not be a member of the travelling party to face the Euro 2012 co-hosts and speaking to reporters on Thursday, Hodgson stressed that he would not rush Jenkinson's development.
"After speaking to Arsene [Wenger] I am also conscious that his rise has been meteoric," said the Three Lions' coach.
"He's only 20 and it's nice to temper things a little bit, but he wouldn't be out of place in the squad. Kieran Gibbs, like Jenkinson, has started very well for Arsenal.
"On this occasion, we decided to go with [Gibbs] and keep Jenkinson up our sleeves but he'll be very much in our thoughts when it comes to the next friendly match."
